These guidelines address the evaluation of dimensional measurement uncertainty. Emphasis is placed on simplified methods appropriate for the industrial practitioner. The introductory methods presented are consistent with the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM), the nationally and internationally accepted method to quantify measurement uncertainty. The use of these guidelines does not preclude more advanced methods to be employed in the uncertainty evaluation process. See more
