This adjunct for volume correction factors, or VCF, provides algorithm and implementation procedures for correcting temperature and pressure effects on density and volume of liquid hydrocarbons in a downloadable PDF file. It is directly referenced in the American Petroleum Institute’s Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards and contains three key pieces: – a 2004 update to API MPMS Chapter 11.1 – “addendum 1” from 2007 – “addendum 2” from 2019 This document, as well as ASTM D1250, Standard Guide for the Use of the Joint API and ASTM Adjunct for Temperature and Pressure Volume Correction Factors for Generalized Crude Oils, Refined Products, and Lubricating Oils: API MPMS Chapter 11.1, are part of the replacement for the 11-volume printed Petroleum Measurement Tables, a historical document created in 1980. Those historical volumes have been superseded by pieces of content from API’s Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards as well as this adjunct and its associated ASTM standard. With updated information that more accurately depicts actual field conditions, this new replacement document makes it easier to implement ASTM standard D1250 rather than using the 1980 tables.
