This 4-color reference spot sheet (8.50 by 11.0 in.) shows five spots rated No. 1 through No. 5. A sample of residual fuel is put on a test paper, placed in an oven, and heated for an hour. The resultant spot is examined for evidence of suspended solids and rated for cleanliness and compatibility against the reference spots on the adjunct. This adjunct has been updated, from the original, to meet the current specifications of the fuel industry. In collaboration with AD Systems, the adjunct was developed to represent modern fuels available in today’s market. Examples of reference spots were taken by high-resolution camera of the automated D4740 apparatus, and all come from real fuels tested between 2019-2022. The updated adjunct represents 3 examples of reference spot for each of 5 rating levels.Popular Publishers
