Anotace

Covers internal combustin reciprocating engines for oil-field service, including methods of testing and rating for application to specific oilfield duties. The methods of test stipulated herein are intended to afford the purchaser a uniform basis for comparing similar equipment with respect to capacity , energy requirements, and recommended speed range. This document covers methods for determining maximum brake horsepower and fuel consumption rates of internal-combustion bare engines and power units; provides for the manufacturers maximum horsepower rating of such equipment for specific service applications; and gives methods for testing and rating of radiator-type cooling units.
