Anotace

The International Union of Railways (UIC) develops and distributes International Railway Solutions (IRS) to help railway stakeholders to achieve further harmonisation and collaboration.

This IRS outlines the fundamental provisions relating to the construction and equipment of passenger vehicles for use in national and international traffic.

The requirements provided in this IRS complement and do not supersede the statutory régulations on the construction and fitting-out of passenger vehicles that are in force in the relevant countries.

It is addressed to Railway Undertakings, Manufacturers and Entities in charge of the maintenance of railway vehicles.

It integrates in full or in part the following UIC leaflets:
- UIC Leaflet 567:2004, 2nd Edition.

It aims to complement the following standards:
